Dickson Area Sports Preview for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Weekly Preview

Busy week for local teams coming up as we get into the heart of the district schedules. Here’s a look at the schedules and for the high schools getting you set up for the first half of the week.

Creek Wood

Coach Clapper and the Redhawks have a loaded calendar this week with games every night but Wednesday. Looking at Monday and Tuesday they will play a home and home series with Camden starting tonight at 7:00 at Creek Wood. Then tomorrow night the two teams will hook up again for the second game at Camden at 5:00. These games will prove crucial for Creek Wood who is 5-1 in the district and atop the standings right now but nipping on their heels is Camden at 3-1 within the district.

In a week of packed schedules the Lady Redhawks get a week of rest, they will pick up with games next week on the 16th and 17th.

Creek Wood Tennis has matchups with Houston County today at 3:00 at home, tomorrow at 3:00 with Montgomery Central and Wednesday at 4:00 against cross town rival Dickson. All their matches will be at home.

Creek Wood track has just one meet this week, the Creek Wood All Comers Meet at Creek Wood today at 4:00.

Boys Soccer is off till Thursday so check back for an update and preview later this week

Dickson

Coach Ragan is looking for a chance to turn things around for the Cougars this week, it has been a struggle thus far in the district to get wins but starting the week off @Kenwood could be the medicine they need.  Coming in at 0-4 in the district DCHS is ahead of only Kenwood (0-5) in the standings and looks to make a move starting tonight. First pitch is set for 6:30 and tonight’s game is the RFC Sports Network Baseball Game of the Week. The Cougars are also slated to play Springfield at home tomorrow night at 6:30, yet another chance for Coach Ragan’s team to make a move within District 10

Lady Cougar softball has a very similar schedule to baseball as they head up to Kenwood tonight to play at 5:30. This is the only matchup between Kenwood and Dickson this season and is crucial as they are currently tied at the top of the District 10 standings with Clarksville High. Then tomorrow night the Lady Cougars are back at it against Springfield at 5:30 and is the RFC Sports Network Softball Game of the Week.

Tennis has three big matches this week starting tonight when Kenwood comes to town at 4:00. Tomorrow night intra-county rivals meet up at Creek Wood at 4:00 Tuesday afternoon, then Wednesday afternoon Dickson County will face another District 10 foe, Springfield.

Coach Cardona and the Cougars have five matches this week are start it off by hosting Clarksville tonight at 7:00. Tomorrow night Kenwood comes calling at 6:00. After a big week last week the Cougars look to keep it going in district play where they are on top of the standings tied with West Creek at 3-0.

Tuesday Night Recap

Tuesday night was full of matchups around the county with eight high school teams in action throughout the area.

Dickson baseball was the RFC Sports Network Game of the Week as Dickson took on the Wildcats of Clarksville in a tough district 10 matchup. After receiving a 3-0 lead in the first Donnie Everrett of Clarksville cruised through 6 inning of shutout baseball to power the Wildcats past Dickson 5-0. Dickson would strand six runners in the game and only managed two hits on the night while committing costly errors early. Luke Humphreys was the Manhattan Trophies MVP of the Game after pitching five innings and allowing five runs while striking out four and going one for two with a double (one of only two Dickson hits on the night.) Dickson’s next action will be against Lawrence County, Friday.

Dickson softball also squared off with Clarksville last night in District play and won 4-2 in a tight matchup.

Both Creek Wood squads rolled on Tuesday with the boys winning 10-0 over Waverly and the girls beating Cheatham County 10-1.

Coach Cardona and the Dickson Boys Soccer team traveled to Northeast and got a big road win 3-0 Tuesday night as well.

Also in action Tuesday were the high school tracks teams who were both in attendance of the Dickson All Comers Meet. Creek Wood Soccer travel to Middle Tennessee Christian and Dickson Tennis also took on Clarksville.

Creek Wood Weekly Preview for April 2

It’s another full week for the Redhawks and Lady Redhawks of Creek Wood this week. Here’s how it lays out for each sports for the week of April 2nd.

Coach Clapper and the Redhawk  baseball team have a home and home matchup against Waverly this week stating with their game at Waverly tonight (April 2nd) at 5:00pm. Then they will return home tomorrow night for the second game with Waverly at 7pm. With no weather issues in the forecast these should be the only games for the Redhawks this week.

Coach Jackson and the Lady Redhawks have a busy week coming up with two games and a two day tournament this weekend. Cheatham County comes to Creek Wood Tuesday night at 5:00pm and then the Lady Redhawks will host Waverly Wednesday night at 4:45pm. After an off day on Thursday its right back to work when they take on the Play It Again Sports tournament Friday and Saturday in Clarksville with game times still TBA.

The Creek Wood track and field team has one meet this week at Dickson as part of the Dickson All Comers meet at 4pm on Tuesday

Creek Soccer is on the road all this week with a match Tuesday night at Middle Tennessee Christian School at 6pm and with keeper CJ Denney they’ll look to have a strong week. On the road again Thursday night Coach Ridgway will have the team ready for a trip up to Montgomery Central and a match set for 5pm.
